While the name Blue Lagoon Island may seem made up, we assure it's real and it's only 3 miles off of the coast of Nassau in the Bahamas. Formerly known as Salt Cay, the little island became a stopover for pirates and boaters who collected salt to preserve their foods before gaining entry to Nassau Harbour. Over the years ownership has passed between wealthy Bahamians and Americans, but today it is used as an educational dolphin reserve. This porcelain treasure from the storied island probably dates back to the 1970s.
